On behalf of Imua Family Services, our Bluesmiths Paddle Imua Planning Committee and the keiki of Camp Imua, MAHALO to all for joining us for the Fifth Annual BLUESMTIHS Paddle Imua this past Saturday, May 7th. Despite gnarly rain and water conditions, racers lined Maliko with every intention to charge. This one-of-a-kind mission-based race was made all the more special as it commemorated it’s 5th anniversary as a direct benefit of Imua Family Services’ Camp Imua program. Camp Imua provides a camp experience to Maui’s children with special needs and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this summer.
Event sponsors included Zevenbergen Capital Investment, Nuestro Futuro, Aloha Aina Center, Maui Jim, Hawaiian Canoe Club, SIC Maui, Rising Sun Solar, Aloha Mixed Plate, Maui Brew Co., Velocitek, Deep Relief, Elite Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, Sporting Club of The Pacific, Alaska Airlines, Old Lahaina Luau, KeNalu, Goodfellow Bros. and Ozolio.
The race was followed by an ‘Ohana Festival at Hawaiian Canoe Club. The public enjoyed entertainment provided by the Old Lahaina Luau, prize draws, Grom Camp, SIC Maui Relay and food trucks by Teddy’s Bigger Burgers and Like Poke. Trophies were given to the top three finishers in each division. PHOTO CREDIT: Bryan Berkowitz.
